Rebranding a Beloved Sustainable Oil Product with Consumers in Mind

In 2006, Susquehanna Mills Co. was born from the founder's interest in cost-effective bio-diesel as a sustainable alternative to fuel vehicles used in his construction business. Since then, the brand has evolved from a supplier of bio-diesel to a manufacturer of quality Canola, Sunflower, and Hemp cooking oils whose top priority is sustainability. To bolster this expanded direct to consumer retail strategy, a fresh visual approach was required.

Cohere was engaged to redesign the brand identity, with a focus on consumer packaging design and content to showcase across e-commerce and digital channels. The end result includes a custom wordmark and illustrations, fresh product packaging lineup, and rich content that showcases the process behind the products.

Equipped with a refreshed brand and packaging line-up for the variety of oils they sell, Susquehanna Mills Co. was able to upgrade their web presence as well, opening an underutilized e-commerce sales channel to drive more D2C sales. The new labels, video and photo content, and packaging refresh have allowed this growing brand to continue to reach new audiences across the region.
